The Transamerica Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon hit our neck of the woods this past weekend! The streets and neighborhoods were teeming with runners being treated to a beautiful day in San Francisco. This year’s trail took participants through the Presidio, across the Golden Gate Bridge, and through Russian Hill and across the finish line to drop them in the heart of Downtown San Francisco.

1-minute burpee challenge at the Spartan Race booth!

Since we’re fools for fitness, the WellnessFX team took the expo in the Moscone center by storm. Two days packed full of SF-natives and out-of-towners, all enthusiastic to hit the ground running. While the runners and their friends and family blazed through the expo hall, enjoying free samples, trying on the latest in running gear, sports apparel, health & nutritional information, the WellnessFX booth was buzzing with free WellnessFX “What’s your Health Score?” t-shirts, health chit chat, tangerine Cuties and a special guest appearance. Noteworthy happenings at the expo:

  • We were right across from the good folks of the popular obstacle course-focused Spartan Race series and their 1-minute burpee challenge at the booth. It was intense.
  • Demonstrations of cool fitness gear, like a mobility crash course with RPI of Atlanta’s “The Stick.” Thanks for teaching our team how to massage our iliotibial bands!
  • Talking to many new faces about what they do to take care of their health and learning how they monitor and chart their progress.

The coolest highlight? A visit from four-time Pro Bowl player and three-time Super Bowl winner, San Francisco 49er Roger Craig!

Craig, a record-setting running back for the 49’ers, popped by the WellnessFX’s booth to meet fellow Rock n’ Roll runners, take pictures and even sign autographs for the first 100 people. He is an avid marathon runner, competing in Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathons in also San Diego and Arizona.

For Craig, maintaining his health and fitness means he’s a believer in regular blood testing. Like the WellnessFX team, Craig believes that knowledge is powerful medicine:

“As a former NFL player, I’ve learned the importance of continuing to train and keep on top of regular biomarker testing to keep myself at peak health. Thanks to this, I feel as good today as I did in the 80s, and companies like WellnessFX are leading the charge to make this possible for everyone,” – Roger Craig

We couldn’t agree more. Especially for athletes looking to achieve peak performance – it’s essential to monitor performance hormones, advanced nutrients, and metabolism.
